By making a reservation and/or making any form of payment, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions in full. Prices quoted are in Australian dollars inclusive of appropriate taxes and are subject to change without notice.

Check in Times:
B&B rooms: 1:30 pm
The Cottage 2:00 pm
Check out time: 10:30 am

Bookings:
Bookings are recommended. Reservations are not confirmed until receipt/clearance of a deposit. Please be aware that there is an unfenced pool on the property and an unfenced pond in the atrium off the guest lounge. Hillcrest is not insured for and will not accept check-in of children of any age (including babies) under any circumstances because of the unfenced pool and pond – our usual cancellation terms will be applied so please take this condition seriously.

Domestic Bookings:
Deposit required for one night (on each room/cottage booked) at the single night rate or 25% (whichever the greater) of total booking required as non-refundable/non-transferable deposit. Thirty days notice of cancellation is required (60 days for non credit card payments) or the full rate will be charged unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for the entire period.
Please note: 
‘No shows’ will be charged in full – including any ordered meals/extras. Balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival (60 days for non-credit card payments) and is non-refundable/non-transferable to other dates unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for the entire period. Balance of booking transferred to other dates at the discretion of the owners (and only if original dates can be relet in full) and is subject to $25 transfer fee. No date transfers will be accepted from 21 days prior to arrival. Failure to pay by the due date of the balance of payment may result in room(s)/cottage being released and forfeit of deposit.

Overseas Bookings (outside Australia):
Payment is due in full at time of reservation and is non-refundable/non-transferable unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for the entire period.

Refunds:
All refunds are subject to one night at single night rate or 25% (whichever greater) non-refundable portion.
We strongly recommend that you consider travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances which could otherwise leave you out of pocket.

Christmas and New Year Bookings:
Non-credit card payments are due in full on reservation (not refundable and not transferable in the event of a cancellation). Credit card payments: 50% deposit on reservation (not refundable and not transferable in the event of a cancellation), balance of room charge to be paid by 1st November and is non-refundable and non-transferable unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for entire period.
Bookings made after November 1st are due in full and are non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of a cancellation unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for entire period (subject to non-refundable portion described above). ‘No shows’ will be charged in full including any ordered meals/extras.

Discounted Rates:
Discounted rates and specials apply to direct bookings only i.e. no commissions will be paid to any third party booking companies and are not available for peak periods, public holidays or special events. If you have booked through a commissionable entity, we cannot offer our special discounted rates, however return visits (if booked direct) will be at any available discounted rate.
All specials and discounted stays are due in full at time of booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of a cancellation for whatever reason unless the room(s)/cottage can be relet for entire period (subject to usual non-refundable portion as noted above), so please be sure about your dates before you book.

Gift Vouchers:
Gift vouchers are available either for specific dates or open dated with three months validity. Gift voucher dates cannot be extended under any circumstances so please do not put gift voucher to one side and forget about it. Gift vouchers must be paid in full in advance and are not refundable either in full or part under any circumstances. Once a date has been reserved for a gift voucher stay it cannot be changed under any circumstances so please don’t ask as refusal is bound to offend.

Food Preparation:
There are no self-catering facilities in the main house. Food preparation and consumption is not permitted in the main house bedrooms or bathrooms – any damage caused by same will be charged at full replacement value plus travel time/petrol.

Smoking:
Hillcrest is a ‘no smoking indoors’ property. Guests smoking indoors will be asked to leave immediately with no refund unless room(s)/cottage can be relet for entire period. An extra cleaning charge will be applied for laundering curtains, rugs, covers etc.

Visitors:
Strictly one couple only per room/cottage. Outside visitors are not insured for and so not permitted to use Hillcrest facilities including the pool. Limited numbers of outside visitors are welcome for a few hours with prior permission from hosts, however they are not insured for and will not be permitted to stay overnight under any circumstances unless they book and pay for their own room/cottage, at which time they will be equally bound by our terms and conditions. Children of any age (including babies) are NOT permitted on the property at any time.
All alcohol consumed on premises is done so at own risk. Hillcrest does not take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or accident caused by or to Hillcrest guests or outside visitors either on or off the premises under any circumstances whatsoever. We recommend that outside visitors who intend to consume alcohol during their visit allocate a designated driver as taxis are not always available.

Damage/Theft:
A full room/cottage inventory is taken between guests and any negligent or malicious damage to or theft of Hillcrest property will be charged to your account at full replacement cost on discovery. This includes use of candles, laundry, food preparation in B&B rooms etc. Please note that
lampshades and curtains etc come in pairs. If you damage one you will have to replace both! We buy good quality fixtures and fittings which are expensive. An excess cleaning charge will be applied to cottage/rooms if deemed necessary (at owner discretion). All breakages, theft and/or damage will be charged at full replacement cost plus travel time and petrol.

Security Deposit:
Guests who have paid by direct deposit will be required to provide valid credit card details or $200 cash as security against damage/theft/excess cleaning or other charges.

Flood and severe weather conditions:
If Hillcrest Mountain View Retreat is unreachable due to localised flooding of access roads in the Crystal Creek area, booked guests will be contacted by phone and email and offered the choice of a refund or a transfer of their booking to other dates within three months. We recommend travel insurance against severe weather conditions outside of direct access roads in the Crystal Creek area preventing travel as our usual cancellation policies will apply. Guests stranded at Hillcrest due to localised flooding will be charged 50% of standard nightly rate. Food is not included in standard nightly rate will be provided at cost.
